Eat Street - Festoon Dome

When it comes to creating unforgettable atmospheres, lighting is everything—and our recent installation at Eat Street is a perfect example of how the right setup can completely transform a space.

We had the opportunity to design and install lighting across both the West Wharf Dome and East Wharf Dome, with a clear vision in mind: create something immersive, eye-catching, and truly magical.

The Concept

Rather than a standard festoon layout, we wanted to elevate the experience—literally.

We used our commercial-grade E27 Festoon Cable with a tight 0.5m spacing (2 bulbs per metre) to create density and consistency across the domes. But what really brought the installation to life was how we introduced variation.

By incorporating a mix of our black droppers in lengths of 0.4m, 0.6m, 0.8m, 1.2m, 1.6m, 2m, and 2.4m, we were able to stagger the bulbs at different heights. This created a layered, floating effect that draws your eye in every direction.

Oversized Bulbs for Maximum Impact

To amplify the visual impact, we paired the setup with oversized E27 G80, G95, and G125 bulbs in a warm 1800K colour temperature.

The result? A soft, golden glow that feels inviting, intimate, and atmospheric—perfect for a vibrant venue like Eat Street.

The Final Result

Looking down through Eat Street now, you’re met with a stunning visual—hundreds of oversized bulbs suspended at varying heights, creating what can only be described as a sea of floating light.

It’s not just lighting—it’s an experience.

The domes have become a feature in themselves, drawing people in and encouraging them to stop, look up, and take it all in. Whether you’re walking through, dining underneath, or capturing content, the space feels alive.
